Becoming a member of a Rotary club doesn't necessarily mean one is a Rotarian. A Rotary club member attends meetings, pays dues, serves on a committee and might even serve on the club's board of directors or as an officer.
 A Rotarian seeks out the full meaning of what being part of the first service club in the world really means. It means becoming connected to the over 1.2 million Rotarians around the globe; it means providing SERVICE Above Self in all aspects of our personal and professional lives; it means addressing the needs of communities at home and around the world. A Rotarian understands how to use the "Magic of Rotary" to capture the imagination of people to see what too few can see, a world where hunger, disease, war, poverty and illiteracy do not exist. Once you become a Rotarian, your life and your view of the world will never again be the same.
The road to becoming a Rotarian means taking an active role in the club's meetings and activities. Listed below are activities each new Rotarian should consider making a part of their "Rotary Experience".
- Act as a greeter prior to the meeting, greeting all members and making sure guests are given proper attention.
- Lead the Invocation, introduce guests or take some other role in front of the club.
- Wear your Rotary pin everyday as a reminder to yourself and others.
- Seek an opportunity to do a "Who am I?" (vocational).
- Make up at another club or Interact meeting.
- Participate in a fund raising event or community service event.
- Attend a Rotary Information meeting.
- Attend a Rotary board meeting.
- Propose a new member into the club.
- Review the club constitution and bylaws.
- Participate in a committee function.
- Attend a Fellowship meeting (Holiday, off-site, other as available).
- Attend District Assembly
- Attend District Conference.
- Attend a Rotary International Convention.
- Participate when the club hosts exchanges (Group Study Exchange, Youth Exchange, etc.)
